Utilizing photographs from several years of birding the state, this presentation will highlight the unique geography and habitats of South Dakota, the species diversity, specialty birds, regions, and several hotspots.
Joe was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, earning his bachelors degree from Augustana University, where an ornithology course introduced him to the world of birding. He went on to complete a combined M.D/Ph.D program at the University of South Dakota, and moved to Charlottesville upon graduation in 2016 to complete a residency training program in pathology at UVA.
