2026 VSO Bird Class: March 27/28 thru May 15/16
Registration is now open for an eight-week field class ‘focused’ on identifying birds in the wild by sight and sound. Two separate classes, one on Friday and one on Saturday, will meet for approximately three hours starting at 7 AM at various locations and habitats in Albemarle County.
Cost is $200/person payable as a tax-deductible donation to the Virginia Society of Ornithology, whose funds are used to promote the conservation of Virginia’s birdlife. No tests or grades involved. There will be some stream crossings and climbing over fences, but no overly strenuous hikes are planned. Limited to 16 participants per class.
