Watch the recording of our March 4 meeting, including the featured presentation from Dr. Cin-Ty Lee on the topic of nocturnal flight acoustics during migration.
Passcode: D^a80C6t
About the presentation: Did you know that most songbirds migrate in the darkness of the night? High overhead, millions and millions of birds pass over on their way to and from breeding grounds. They would mostly go unnoticed were it not for their vocalizations during these journeys. Join us for an acoustic tour, led by Dr. Cin-Ty Lee, of these nocturnal flights, opening up a whole new window into observing migration. We will talk about the great flights of thrushes in spring and how acoustic detection of migrating sparrows along the Gulf Coast can tell us about the breeding conditions of the northern prairies.
