    Field Trip to Living Earth School

    Field Trip Leader:

    Join PVBC for a field trip to Living Earth School in southern Albemarle County! This property regularly hosts a variety of vireos, orioles, thrushes, tanagers and many other local summer breeders.

    • This event is free and open to anyone. No registration needed.
    • Meet at 3626 Red Hill Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Once at the address, turn at the orange cones, drive in and look for directive signs following a narrow gravel road half a mile down to a grass field to park.
    • Expect to walk 1-2 miles on grass and dirt trails with gentle slopes.
    • An outhouse is available on the property.

    Blue Ridge Young Birders Club

    PVBC sponsors a young birders club to foster discovery and learning about Virginia’s birds in children ages 7-16. The Blue Ridge Young Birders Club meets monthly during the first Saturday bird walks at Ivy Creek and conducts field trips in the Charlottesville area.
