    Please join us for “Fungi 101” at Ivy Creek, where Charlie Aller of the Piedmont Discovery Center will talk to us about local fungal life.

    Charlie has a BS in Horticulture Science from Virginia Tech. He has spent the last 13 years studying mycology, co-founding Mush Luv with his partner, Nina O’Malley, and re-discovering love for all kinds of biology through a fungal orientation. He has taught workshops on mycology, helped organize the New Moon Mycology Summit, co-lead ecology tours in Greece, and co-facilitated a mushroom cultivation course in Oregon.

    Blue Ridge Young Birders Club

    PVBC sponsors a young birders club to foster discovery and learning about Virginia’s birds in children ages 7-16. The Blue Ridge Young Birders Club meets monthly during the first Saturday bird walks at Ivy Creek and conducts field trips in the Charlottesville area.
