Field Trip Leader:
PVBC has partnered with the Piedmont Environmental Council and UVA’s Morven Sustainability Lab to offer a community bird walk this Saturday in honor of World Migratory Bird Day! Morven is a beautiful historic estate now serving as a research station for regenerative agriculture and more. UVA professor Manuel Lerdau will lead a walk through varied habitat including meadow, pond, forest edge, and snags. On return to the parking area there is an option to drive a short distance to view another pond that is often visited by green herons and wood ducks.
- This walk is free and open to all but we please ask participants to register.
- Set your navigation to 600 Morven Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
- Please plan to arrive at the gate at by 7:45 to check in and be directed to the nearby designated parking area (carpooling encouraged).
- Restrooms are available on site.
- Plan to walk around a mile or less on fairly flat, mowed grass trails.
