October Monthly Meeting (Ivy Creek)
Charlottesville artist Amy Shawley Paquette will share her birding experiences and how they relate to a creative process as well as thoughts on how birds appear throughout art history. An avid birder since 2014, she has traveled around the US gathering reference photos and moments with a wide range of bird species so she can use them for her paintings. She will talk about her entire process from locating birds, feeling a connection to them in the wild, getting the right photos, decisions made when painting them, and how the paintings create a connection when shared with others.
