Montfair Resort Farm, a beautiful eco-friendly event center near Crozet, is welcoming the Club to visit on Friday morning, June 12 at 7:30-9:30. (Although we will wrap up the bird walk by 9:30, people can stay after to enjoy the view from the deck overlooking the lake, or rent a canoe or bicycle for $5 to explore more). Montfair has 1.5 of trails mostly through woods of the 120 acre property but also some field areas available- three small ponds and one small lake fed by small unnamed tributaries and spring fed- with beaver and wetland habitat. There are a few steep hills but plenty of flat lands as well. A restroom is available at the main office and the event lodge. George Arnold will be leading. We’ll park at the large gravel parking lot in front of the event center, and meet and start our circuit of the trail from the main office (a short walk from the event center, you will pass the office on the way in).
