Please see the attached financial report for FY21. We decided early in the year to forego the Birdseed Sale this year, due to the pandemic. The pandemic actually helped our membership, and we increased our roll to a record 218 members, compared to 190 last year. Kudos to Scott Connuck, Membership Chair. However, the pandemic adversely affected our community outreach and our traditional scholarship programs. We did provide $500 in support to a new scholarship for Black and Latinx birders. Our deficit was ($112) for the year, compared to a budget of ($3,260).

PVBC sponsors a young birders club to foster discovery and learning about Virginia’s birds in children ages 7-16. The Blue Ridge Young Birders Club meets monthly during the first Saturday bird walks at Ivy Creek and conducts field trips in the Charlottesville area. We offer loaner binoculars, and family members are welcome to join. To learn more, email Janet Paisley at [email protected].
