Piedmont Virginia Bird Club shares a financial report once a year to show how the Club is performing and how it uses its revenue. Please see the FY25 Financial Results & FY26 Budget spreadsheet for details. Our 2025 fiscal year ended on June 30, 2025. PVBC’s FY25 budget had projected a net income of $297. Our actual net income was a gain of $3,361. We benefited from generous donations from members, and from Wild Birds Unlimited hosting a day when a portion of their sales profits were donated to the Club.
At the end of FY25, our membership count was 215, slightly higher than last year’s count of 210. The membership increase produced more revenue than budgeted. Our expenses were higher than budgeted due to costs that the board approved to improve club outreach as well as increased contributions for projects, including donations to the Schuyler Quarry Gardens, PVBC marketing materials, and loaner binoculars for field trips.
For FY26, we will be supporting our revived Blue Ridge Young Birders Club. We have also planned to make donations to more partner organizations. Any expenditure exceeding income will be covered by our sufficient savings. The FY26 budget is set up to result in a net gain.
Your membership contributions and donations help PVBC organize events, bring birdwatchers together, and support bird conservation projects. Thanks to Scott Connuck, our membership chair, and to all our members for their support. If you wish to become a member or make a donation, please visit our membership page.
