PVBC Meeting Minutes: February 4, 2026

At 6:00 p.m. at least 54 members of PVBC joined together at the Bolick Center at PVCC to celebrate the Club’s 40TH ANNIVERSARY!
Members enjoyed a delicious catered dinner from Roots Natural Kitchen in addition to potluck desserts provided by Club members.
Then, Myrlene Staten, PVBC President, opened the meeting promptly at 7:00 p.m., to introduce a panel of PVBC’s founding members and past presidents who shared stories about the history of the Club.
Finally, Callan Bentley led members, who formed teams by tables, in a game of JeopBirdie.
A great time was had by all!
Upcoming Field Trips
First Saturday Bird Walk at Ivy Creek Natural Area, on Saturday, February 7th, at 7:30 a.m. CANCELLED DUE TO ICY CONDITIONS.
PVBC Field Trip: Bracketts Farm, on Saturday, February 21st, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cory Swift will lead us on this trip. This trip is free and open to all. Meet at 1117 Bracketts Farm Rd, Louisa, VA 23093. Carpooling is encouraged.
Next Club Meeting
The Club meets next on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., by Zoom. Cin-Ty Lee, Ph.D., of Rice University will present about nocturnal flight calls of Canadian grassland sparrows.
