Piedmont Virginia Bird Club hosts monthly bird walks at Ivy Creek Natural Area all year. These walks always meet in the parking lot on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30 AM. The walks are free and open to all, no membership, registration, or birdwatching experience needed!
Join us to explore Ivy Creek Natural Area’s trails, which take us through varied habitats and always offer a wide variety of birds year-round. Experienced club members lead the walks, sharing fun facts and helping participants listen and look for birds. A limited number of loaner binoculars will be available to participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. The walks typically last about an hour and a half (you may leave whenever you wish), stay under a mile in distance, and stick to dirt or grass trails with some hills. Restrooms and drinking water fountains are available seasonally. Parking is free. We hope you’ll join us!
